In partnership with the Free Library of Philadelphia’s One Book, One Philadelphia series, we are hosting a special program with acclaimed author Jacqueline Woodson and our North Stars students from the Amadee Bregy School in South Philadephia and the Church of the Advocate in North Philadephia.
Our students have read Ms. Woodson’s book, Brown Girl Dreaming, and worked with our Teaching Artists, Star and Marty, to explore the text through art. During the event, the North Stars will present their work, Ms. Woodson will read from her book, and all will discuss Brown Girl Dreaming. We will culminate with a Q&A session between students and the author, and book signing by Ms. Woodson!
