The 34th Annual Celebration of Black Arts Festival, running July 1- 31, 2018 is one of the nation’s oldest African-American literary and arts events. The month-long event filled with programming for all ages, backgrounds, and interests. 

Art Sanctuary partners with BalletX Project eXpand to invite community members to Summer Series 2018 at The Wilma Theater on Friday, July 20 at 8:00 pm.   Attendees will:

Experience three world premiere contemporary ballets by award-winning choreographers Matthew Neenan, Penny Saunders, and Andrew McNicolPlus original music by Barrymore Award winner Rosie Langabeer, performed live by Langabeer, Tara Middleton (Sun Ra Arkestra) and Gregg Mervine (West Philadelphia Orchestra), as well as Mozart’s Requiem in D minor and Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words (the latter performed live by pianist Martha Koeneman)

Participate in a pre-show reception with Art Sanctuary guests and BalletX staff

Socialize and snap photos with the dancers and artists behind BalletX in a special post-show meet & greet
