On Wednesday, February 28 at 8:00 PM, you are invited to a special Pay-What-You-Can performance of TONI MORRISON'S THE BLUEST EYE. All proceeds will benefit ART SANCTUARY.
Pecola Breedlove, a young black girl growing up in the 1940's, wants nothing more than to be loved. Confronting turmoil at home, she prays for Shirley Temple’s blue eyes, believing their beauty is the only thing standing between her and the happiness of the white girls at school. This powerful adaptation explores the destructive power of racism and the strength of a community attempting to embrace an era of change.
The Pay-What-You-Can Performance is the Arden's final dress rehearsal before the play opens to a paying audience. In lieu of purchasing tickets, patrons will be asked to make a donation in the amount of their choosing.
Tickets go on sale at 7:00 PM at the door, and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis!
